Publishers can license their PDF documents without expiry dates (just like a normal book) or set a specific end date if it is a book that is revised on a strict basis.

Publishers can also publish magazines, using the Locklizard publication feature. This means that someone can have a subscription (3 months, a year and so on) and for that time they can automatically read any PDF protected documents that are part of the publication without having to do anything. Publishers can decide whether or not they can view back copies. And if their subscription is extended the customer can update their license by going online with each device and picking up the new license.
